Fire Safety and Fire Extinguisher Training
DFES provides training for students, faculty and staff on general fire safety and how to operate a fire extinguisher. The class is about an hour long, and is conducted each Tuesday at 09:00 am and each Thursday at 01:00 pm. CPR & First Aid Training
DFES provides various forms of CPR and First Aid training sanctioned by the American Heart Association. Please click HERE to view the schedule of classes for the 2008-2009 fiscal year.

EMS Continuing Education Credits
DFES maintains a NM EMS Bureau Approved EMS CE Program for the benefit of our personnel to maintain their knowledge, skills, and meet the requirements to maintain their respective EMS provider licenses. These classes are open to anyone needing to obtain NM EMS CE hours at no charge. Classes are scheduled on weekends, two lessons each Saturday and one each Sunday. Since these lessons occur weekly, and have to adjust to other scheduled and non-scheduled shift activities we do not publish a schedule. Persons seeking to attend EMS CE lessons should contact the fire station at 646-2519 shortly after 10:00 am on Saturdays and Sundays and can find out the estimated start and end times for each lesson.
Other Opportunities for Public Education
DFES routinely host tours, open houses, and provides speakers for various civic and philanthropic organizations. We welcome any opportunity to provide people with fire and emergency information.
